The preview of the second day of the Grand Prix "Ivan Yarygin" -2022

The XXXIII International Freestyle Wrestling Tournament among men and women of the Ivan Yarygin Grand Prix series continues in Krasnoyarsk.

On the second day of the competition, men will fight in the weight categories up to 65 kg, 79 kg and 125 kg, and women will fight in the categories up to 53 kg, 57 kg and 62 kg. Olga Khoroshavtseva from Krasnoyarsk, a participant of the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, will compete in women's weight category up to 57 kg. Meanwhile, one of the main rivals of our athlete, the first American Olympic champion and three-time world champion Helen Marulis, will start her fight. Approximate time for the fights of athletes is 11:20 a.m. - 12:40 p.m.

   In addition, in the morning session there will be consolation fights for bronze among men - 57, 61 and 70 kg and women - 53, 57 and 65 kg. In this part of the competition will compete Dinara Kudaeva and Ruslan Zhendaev from Krasnoyarsk, as well as Krasnoyarsk athlete Usman Shakhgiriev, who performs for the Russian team.

   At 4:30 p.m. a traditional flower-laying ceremony will take place at the monument of Ivan Yarygin at the Sports Palace. At 5 p.m. in the center of the hall on the second floor of the Palace of Sports, an exposition of the Sports Museum dedicated to outstanding residents of Krasnoyarsk - two-time Olympic champion Ivan Sergeyevich Yarygin and Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation Dmitry Georgievich Mindiashvili will open.

   The opening ceremony of the tournament is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. After the opening ceremony, in the evening session, finals for women will be held in the categories of 50, 55, 59 and 65 kg, and for men in the weight of 57, 61 and 70 kg. In the 55 kg category, the representative of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Ekaterina Isakova will meet with the Russian Irina Ologonova in the final.

   This year, more than 300 people from 11 countries of the world take part in the tournament, including the USA, Albania, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Moldova, Georgia, Russia. At the tournament the medals in 10 weight categories for women and men will be contested. Following the results of the Ivan Yarygin tournament, the main squad of the national team for the European Championship 2022 will be formed.
